Andy “AJ” Jefferson, Sr. Director of Transportation at Genentech, heads up a department dedicated to optimizing the commuting experience for the company’s South San Francisco workforce. As head of the gRide program, Jefferson leads the development and management of alternative commute solutions as well as fleet programs. Over the past four years he and his team have introduced electric buses to the Genenbus fleet, expanded ferry service, begun electrification of their field sales fleet, and improved ease and access to carpooling. Jefferson’s background includes 20 years in operations management and a passion for people development, innovation and continuous improvement.
